Christmas Lights & Santa Photo Events

There are several Christmas Events happening in our area.

Last year, my family went to Benson North Carolina to see Meadow Lights. It was so good, we are going back again this year. They have a huge light display, Concessions, Carousel, Santa Claus photo op, and an old fashioned candy store. Just be ready to wait in line (in your car and outside for their train) so dress warm. There is no admission to walk around, but they do charge for the train ride to see the lights (only $2).

For more information and directions, visit http://www.meadowlights.com/

Here are some links to other Christmas events… please comment if you have been before! I haven’t been able to try everything out yet.

Lights on the Neuse- Benson, NC

I know they charge Admission, but I don’t know much else about this one.

Jackson Brother’s Santa Events- Sanford, NC

*I know they have a train that fills up fast and their website has their holiday event hours of operation.

For other events in North Carolina, here is a great resource for Christmas/Holiday events around the state.

September 22: Benson Mule Days Festival

Benson Mule Days is happening on Saturday, September 22, 2011 and it sounds like a lot of fun! This town is also home to a really awesome Christmas light display (more on that later).

This festival, which draws 60-70,000 people, is filled with family fun and activities for everyone young and old. The weekend is packed with rodeos, a mule pulling contest, arts and crafts, vendors, street dances, carnival rides, camping, parades, bluegrass shows and more.

For more information, they just created a website with a schedule of events, parking information, and a ton of other stuff.
